Tyler is a passionate educator, writer, researcher and healthcare provider who brings a unique perspective to the college application process.
A local Coloradan, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Colorado Boulder where he studied Neuroscience, Spanish and Public Health. After graduating, he served as a Fulbright grantee and English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Tabasco, Mexico. Three years later, he returned to Fulbright and Mexico to be an ETA mentor where he walked alongside and supported 22 first-time Fulbright ETAs as well as deepened his experience in English teaching. Between his two Fulbright grant years, he worked in hospice and palliative care and published qualitative research on end-of-life spirituality in The American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He has also published his poetry and creative non-fiction in a wide range of journals.
Tyler's interdisciplinary interests make him a good mentor for a wide range of students. While supporting them, he encourages vulnerability, authenticity, and discernment of voice in their writing.
