Sandra is a Bay Area native and attended Los Gatos High School. She went on to UCLA to receive her B.A. in comparative literature and graduated with Department Honors. After she spent time in Spain on a teaching scholarship, she completed her master’s degree at The University of Chicago. She started tutoring while an undergraduate and has primarily worked with students on English, writing, and test prep.
Her experience with college admissions began with doing selection for the UCLA Alumni Scholarship program. She reviewed students from the local district level all the way to the state finals. Additionally, she has worked as an undergraduate admissions reader for UC Berkeley. She also serves as an admissions interviewer for The University of Chicago.
She began doing private college consulting after graduate school when she served as a Counseling Director for a Bay Area educational consulting firm. Her students have received admission to many top private schools. Sandra’s goal is to serve as an advocate for students in this process and helping them figure out what schools might be the best fit for them. She knows that a huge part of that is helping students find their voice and feel confident about their college essays.
